Let’s be real for a second: I haven’t batched a full 30 days of Instagram content in over a year.
Yep, me — the self-proclaimed batching queen who built a business teaching women how to plan and schedule content in advance so they could show up consistently without losing their minds — I stopped doing it.
But before you assume I’ve gone rogue or burned out (spoiler: I haven’t), I want to walk you through why I stopped batching that far ahead and what my content system looks like now. Because spoiler: it’s still organized, strategic, and working like a dream — it just looks a little different these days.
Whether you're just starting out or you're deep into building your content empire, this blog post is your permission slip to evolve your strategy.
Your Content Creation System Should Serve You (Not Suffocate You)
I’ve had so many conversations with female solopreneurs who tell me:
“I can’t batch. It kills my creativity.”
And my answer is always: “Then don’t.” Seriously. If planning ahead drains your energy, you’re allowed to create in real-time. But for me? Batching was survival.
When I first started The Creative Bodega, I had two toddlers, three jobs, and zero time. If I didn’t batch, I didn’t post. And if I didn’t post, I wasn’t growing my business. It was that simple.
Why I Had to Batch (Back Then)
Let me paint the picture:
I co-owned a gym with my husband.
I was the head nutrition coach and content creator for that gym.
I mentored other gym owners.
I had two preschoolers at home.
Posting content in real time? Not an option.
Batching wasn’t a “nice to have” — it was my lifeline. I had maybe 15 minutes between Zoom calls to scarf down lunch, not plan a Reel.
So every Saturday during nap time or movie time, I’d crank out content. It wasn’t glamorous. It wasn’t perfectly aesthetic. But it got the job done.

But Then... Everything Changed
Fast forward to now:
Our gym closed.
My husband went back to finance.
I left nutrition coaching and mentoring.
And I now run The Creative Bodega full-time.
Suddenly, I had full workdays. Like… actual hours. It was weird at first — I remember thinking, “What the heck do people do with all this time?!”
With more breathing room came more systems. I created:
Canva templates I could reuse over and over
A clearer posting strategy tied to my brand pillars
A big ol’ content bank to pull from (four years of content will do that)
And you know what? I didn’t need to batch 30 days anymore.
My Current System: The Hybrid Approach
Here’s what content batching looks like now for me:
🎯 Weekly Theme
I start with my podcast episode for the week. Monday’s post always supports that topic and links to the episode.
📌 Batch 2–3 Anchor Posts Per Week
Usually a “How-To” Canva carousel, a content creation tip, and one other core post.
🎨 Intuitive Content Creation
The rest of the week? I leave space to create what feels fun. A meme, a trending Reel, a behind-the-scenes photo — whatever fits.
📚 Reuse Existing Content
I pull top-performing posts from my content bank and either repost them or remix them. I track which ones perform best monthly, so I always know what to repurpose.

No More Last-Minute Panic Posts
One boundary I don’t break: I never create a post the day of.
If I don’t have something scheduled, I let it go. Period. I used to panic if I didn’t post — now, I trust my rhythm. Missing one day won’t break my business.
That being said, I prefer to post 5–6 days a week. But because I’ve built a system that supports me, I don’t have to hustle daily to make that happen.
Let’s Talk About Seasons
Batching is seasonal.
Your systems should evolve with your life.
Back then, batching 30 days ahead made sense — it was the only way to stay consistent while juggling three jobs and toddler chaos.
Now? I have more time. More systems. And a huge library of posts. So batching 7–10 days at a time is plenty.
If you’re in a season of chaos — another job, little kids, client overload — batching a month ahead might be your golden ticket.
If you’re in a more spacious season — feel free to try the hybrid model.
Repurposing Isn’t Lazy — It’s Smart
Some of y’all think once you post something, it’s done forever.
Nope.
If your audience didn’t save, comment, or share it the first time, you’re probably the only one who remembers it. And if they did engage? That’s even more reason to repost it. It clearly worked!
So yes, I absolutely reshare and remix old posts — and you should too.

What If Batching Isn’t Working for You?
Ask yourself why. Seriously — go five layers deep:
Why am I not batching?
Why does it feel hard?
Why am I avoiding it?
What am I afraid of?
What do I really need to feel confident creating content?
It might be:
Your offer isn’t clear yet
Your brand messaging is shaky
You don’t know who you’re talking to
You’re lacking structure and support
That’s why I built The Insta X Canva Collective (IXCC) — to walk you through brand clarity, content systems, Canva design, and posting strategy step by step.
“ Thank you so much for your help in IXCC. It's helped me massively. Content creation feels light and exciting instead of the profound dread that I used to feel before. ” — Carolina, IXCC Alum
In Case You Need to Hear This…
You can still believe in batching and evolve your approach.
You don’t owe anyone a rigid routine.
You’re allowed to change what works for you.
There’s no gold star for batching 30 days in advance. Do what supports your creativity — not what strangles it.
Final Thoughts: Give Yourself Permission to Shift
So yeah, I haven’t batched a full month of content in a long time. But I’m still showing up consistently, growing my business, and (most importantly) enjoying content creation again.
You can be:
Strategic and spontaneous
Structured and intuitive
Consistent and human
There are no rules here. Just make sure your system supports your life — not the other way around.
