Why This Isn't Another “Productivity Tips” Post
Most business advice online sounds the same: time block your calendar, automate your workflows, color-code your Trello board, and you’ll magically feel calm and in control. 🙄
But the truth is: no system in the world will work if you're running on empty. This blog isn’t about hacks. It’s about what actually keeps me grounded, focused, and emotionally regulated while launching a live program — all while raising two kids, being the breadwinner, and managing a business that people depend on.
Let’s go behind the scenes.
The Truth About Launching (That Nobody Tells You)
I was four days away from opening the doors to my live program. My stomach felt like it had a rock in it. I wasn’t eating. I was snapping at my kids. And I legit thought I had a stomach bug until my husband looked at me and said, “You do this every time you launch.”
He’s right.
And if you’re reading this, I bet you’ve been there too. That moment where everything feels heavy. Where one kid not brushing their teeth sends you into a full emotional spiral. You’re not alone.
The emotional toll of launching isn’t just about business. It bleeds into your mornings, your parenting, your marriage, and your mental health. And if we don’t build the support to carry it — we crumble under the pressure.
This post is for every woman who's cried before hitting "publish."
Lesson 1: Support Systems Are a Strategy, Not a Luxury
Search term to target: support systems for solopreneurs, how to build a business support system
I used to think asking for help made me look weak. Now? It's my superpower.
Let me break down the support systems that carry me during a launch (and year-round):
💛 1. My Husband = My Launch MVP
We strategically plan launches together. He knows when I’m about to go “under,” and we shift household tasks. He does the grocery runs, sports drop-offs, and meal planning. It works because we had honest convos about expectations when I became the breadwinner.
Tip: Don’t expect your partner to just “know” what you need. Tell them.
💛 2. My Small But Mighty Team
I currently have three incredible women supporting me. (Link them here if you have their sites!)
Brianna – VA + Backend Queen
Helps with podcast blogs, website updates, and payment follow-ups inside The Content Coven.Nicole – Community + Graphics
Coven membership manager, supports challenge setup, and even designs graphics (which I never let anyone do until now!).Steph – Brand Strategist & Biz Clarity Queen
My go-to for strategy, voice, direction, and accountability. We meet biweekly and she helps me translate my jumbled thoughts into launch plans that actually make sense.
💛 3. Friends + Family
My kids' grandparents help. My friends are in the loop. They know when I’m launching. And yes, they’re offering rides or check-ins, which means everything.
👉 Your task: Audit your circle. Where are you doing too much alone?
Lesson 2: Fueling My Body Like It Fuels My Business
Search term to target: energy management for entrepreneurs, wellness for women in business
Listen, I’m not here to preach about green juice. I love coffee, carbs, and comfort food. But I’ve learned that my energy is my currency. If I don’t protect it, nothing works.
Here’s What Works For Me:
Prepping lunch for the whole week
I keep it simple: Turkey burgers, Greek salad with grilled chicken, hearty soup. My husband often doubles meals for us both. (Delegate when you can!)Daily Walks + KLS Workouts
Even if it’s 15 minutes. Movement clears my brain and sharpens my creativity. I use KLS Studio Workouts — I’ll link her in the show notes. (You should too!)Monthly Massage + Cleaning Service
Yes, it’s $300/month combined. But I don’t care. That money buys me back time and sanity. I book massages a year out. I don’t clean. My time is better spent elsewhere. The Sauna That Changed My Life
After a big January launch, I treated myself to an infrared sauna. I use it constantly — especially when I'm on edge. [Link your model here.]
Lesson 3: Home Systems That Save My Sanity
Search term to target: home systems for working moms, outsourcing home chores for entrepreneurs
I’m not above saying it: I don’t clean. Not because I’m lazy, but because I’m a CEO. My home is neat — because I outsource and create systems.
Our Home “Zones” Look Like This:
He does: Dishes (he hates the way I load the dishwasher anyway 😂)
I do: Laundry folding (but not putting it away)
Kids do: Put away their own clothes (we’re training them early!)
We’re not guessing who does what. We’ve talked about it. We’ve made a plan. That kind of clarity saves mental load and keeps resentment away.
👉 Your task: Where can you set clearer household expectations?
Lesson 4: Honest Communication = Strong Relationships
Search term to target: communicating during busy seasons, family conversations about business
I tell my kids when I’m launching. I explain it to them like I would to a team member.
“Mommy’s creating something special.”
“I’m helping X number of people.”
“I’ll be working more, and I’ll be more tired. Here’s why.”
They get it. They’re 8 and 9 — and yes, my daughter even made fake sticky notes for the launch names 🥹.
This also applies to your partner, clients, and friends. People will support you when they know what’s going on. Over-communication is a kindness — not a burden.
Lesson 5: Managing Energy > Managing Time
Search term to target: how to manage energy as a solopreneur, time vs. energy productivity
I don’t just plan my week based on tasks. I plan it based on energy. Here’s how that looks in real life:
My Weekly Flow:
Monday: No calls. Admin. Catch up. Personal life. Reset.
Tuesday–Thursday: Client calls, live trainings, meetings
Friday: Buffer day. Strategy. No commitments if possible.
My Daily Flow:
Morning = movement + creative work
Afternoon = calls, admin, DMs
I protect my high-energy windows like gold. And if I’m drained, I don't push creativity. I walk. I sauna. I nap if I can. Because…
👉 If I burn out, everything burns down. And as the breadwinner? That’s not an option.
How to Apply This to YOUR Business (Without Overwhelm)
You don’t need to overhaul your life this week. But if you’re feeling stretched thin or on the edge of snapping — start here.
💡 Step 1: Audit Your Support System
Who can you ask for help at home or in business?
What tasks drain you that someone else could do better?
💡 Step 2: Fuel Yourself First
Plan three meals this week in advance
Go for a 15-minute walk daily
Book one self-care appointment this month
💡 Step 3: Create Clear Home Roles
Have a family chat
Decide who owns dishes, laundry, errands, etc.
Bonus: Create a visible chore chart if needed
💡 Step 4: Over-Communicate During Busy Seasons
Tell your people what you’re doing and why
Let them in, not out
Apologize when you mess up — you're human
💡 Step 5: Plan Based on Energy, Not Just Tasks
When are you most creative?
When do you crash?
Build your workday around that.

Final Thoughts: You Don’t Need to Be a Superhero
Running a business doesn't mean burning yourself into the ground. It means building sustainable rhythms and knowing that asking for help doesn’t make you weak — it makes you wise.
So whether you’re launching next week or just trying to get your kid to school without crying — I see you. You’re doing better than you think.
